FAQ

What size of dropper post will fit my bike?

Every rider is different, with different frames and rider inseams, etc. Your best bet is to use our Dropper Post Length Selector. You will need: Your current ride height, the distance from the top of the seat post collar to the middle of your saddle rails. Maximum Frame Insertion measurement. You can find this by inserting a rigid post or tape measure into your frame until it hits an obstruction. Simply plug those into the calculator and we'll give you our recommendation of dropper length based on those measurements.

How regularly should I service my dropper post?

We recommend you do an upper bushing clean-and-grease every 25hrs of riding, a full clean and grease service every 75-100hrs of riding, and a full rebuild every 250-350hrs of riding.

Will this post be compatible with my existing dropper remote?

Most likely, yes.

If your dropper remote is cable clamping (has a bolt to clamp the cable) then yes, it is compatible with our dropper. If your remote does not have a cable clamp bolt, you can purchase the Dropper cable/nut kit. It comes with a cable bushing that can clamp a cable. With this you can set up any none cable clamping remote.

Are the seat clamps compatible with oval carbon rails?

Yes, our seat clamps are fully compatible with 7x9mm & 7x10mm carbon seat rails.

The actuator, inside the post, doesn't line up front to back?

The orientation of the actuator is dependant on the threads in the lower tube. This means the actuator orientation, once tightened up, is arbitrary and different on every post. The actuator orientation cannot be changed without rotating the lower tube on the guide pins.

Why is my post slow to extend when I actuate it?

There can be a few different reasons for slow dropper extension. The first checks should always be:

Check seat collar is torqued no higher than 5Nm.
Check the cable tension is correct and the cable is not kinked, binding or sluggish.
Check the upper bushing is properly greased and there is no evidence of excessive wear.

If your posts continues to extend slowly then please email us at support@oneupcomponents.com and we will help resolve your situation.

Do you sell replacement upper or lower tubes?

We do not have upper and lower tubes available as single items.

What grease should I use to service my post?

OneUp droppers should be serviced using a light suspension grease. All droppers come with a small packet of Slickoleum, but any light suspension grease will do the trick. We do not recommend any lubes, including fork boost on our droppers.

What's the minimum weight required to compress the V3 dropper?

A minimum rider weight of 50lbs is required to fully compress the post.
Make sure to apply force to the nose of your saddle, if you're close to that minimum!

Very decent dropper, good experience

"Purchased as upgrade my carbon hardtail to make it more compatible for rough terrain, technical downhill segments and drops. Verdict after a) few months and riding the Stoneman (BE: the Oneup v3 dropper works well. Snappy response to the remote lever. Does wat it needs to do and solid performance so far. I cannot state long-term impressions, how it lasts over X years. Installation was easy, also because my frame (trek procalibwr 9.6, 2021) was prepped by default for internal cable routing."

User from the schwarzwald

"I love the V3. Already had the V2 in my first bike and got the newer version discounted for the second bike. Installation was easy and straightforward. Has a nice snappy feeling. And the price is really fair for such a product even without the discount. I am 179cm tall and bought the 180 mm one."

A very easy to install and extremely fast returning dropper

"I've only had the dropper for <2 months, but it was easy to install, works well and the remote in nice to use. The return to top is very fast, and has made me think my other droppers are lacking when switching bikes. it was interesting to look at the droppers in the group I was with in Czech 1 month ago; It was a lot of One Up's!! I also have the OnUp handlebar on both my Enduro and SL eMTB, which I love!"

Easy to install and great to use

"Unbeatable value for money, no air pressure to adjust, easy to install and smooth use. Gosh and want another one!"

— Romain V. (5/5)

Best so far!

"I've had 8 different droppers on all my bikes, but this one is better than anything else I've tried. It was easy to measure to reach the maximum drop length. Smart design of the saddle clamp and the seatpost itself was thicker than previous posts, which should make it more durable in the long run. Convenient that you can easily adjust the max travel in 10 mm increments without having to disassemble the post. It has a strong return and the remote was good too. With this, I could increase the travel from my previous dropper's 185 mm to 210 mm. Ordering, price, and delivery were all top notch."

V3 150/180mm

"I am happy with the V3 150 mm as well as the V3 180 mm on my other bike, best dropper. Fast delivery, they took my complaint about the price because next day after purchase it was 20€ cheaper and they refunded it. All praise for OneUp."

— Tomas L. (5/5)

decent quality

"Amazing travel for a 27. 2mm diameter dropper. My daughter weights only 25kg so she fights with the 20 kg-force minimum requirement but she solved it. The setup was quite easy and trigger is butter smooth. I'am planning to by one for myself. My only doubt that I shold rebuild properly like with every new stuff nowdays."

— Gabor B. (5/5)

Great Company

"I initially bought a V3 180 and determined it to be too long. I sent it back and ordered a 150 (just right). No hassles. Their installation procedure is super simple and their customer support is excellent."

— JA B. (5/5)

Crazy power

"I have used my new dropper for 250 km now. It got insane power, so it fly up like a rocket"

— Tim J. (5/5)

Q&A

Hi, unfortunately during installation of my dropper post. I lost my barrel for my v3 dopper. The little barrel which you put on the end of the cablerouting. Is it possible to buy it separately? My Adress: Felix Hofmann, Haldenrain 8, 6006 Lucerne, Switzerland. Thank you Felix: Hi Felix, thanks for reaching out. Could you please send me your phone number? That is unfortunate to hear about the missing cable barrel end. With your phone number and mailing address, we can get a cable nut kit shipping out to you.
